If you are confused by dairy you are not alone. First there are constant ads telling you to drink milk because it is good for your bones. Then you are being told by health enthusiasts that milk and all dairy is bad for your health. Which is which? In truth you must eliminate all dairy from your diet. You do not need it! Here is why:
- Milk is good only for calves. Most humans (75% of the world population) cannot digest milk after a certain age. That is because we are meant to drink milk (human milk) only when we are babies. Secondly, the human body cannot assimilate casein, the protein in cow milk. Therefore, because we cannot digest milk and we cannot assimilate it, we do not benefit from the proteins. Look at other animals: they suck for a year and then stop. Humans are the only animal that refuses to be weaned, and unwisely consumes milk that is unnatural to them.
- Milk destroys bones. Milk is acidic in the body after digestion. The body reacts to the acids by leaching alkalis, meaning calcium, from the bones. To make matters worse, we cannot assimilate the type of calcium that is in milk! Therefore, while milk is leaching the calcium from our bones it is not adding any new calcium to the bones. As a result, the bones grow weaker with age. It is not age that is the problem. The problem is continued consumption of milk and dairy products. That is why osteoporosis is a problem in the West where dairy is consumed and non-existent in Africa and Asia where people hardly drink milk.
- Milk causes illnesses. Milk has been linked to prostate cancer, it contains saturated fats that are linked to heart disease, it causes digestive problems for most people and it aggravates irritable bowel syndrome. Milk also promotes the development of mucus in the body which is then infected and leads to colds and flu and the coughing up of phlegm.
Isn’t it odd that a substance that causes so many problems is promoted as healthy? Be aware that companies that pay millions of dollars per year to run milk ads are making a lot of money from selling milk. They have to keep lying about the benefits of milk so that people continue buying.Forget the milk ads. Stop consuming milk, cheese, yogurt and ice cream. Understand that calcium is a mineral and minerals come from the soil. A diet that is rich in a variety of fruits and vegetables will provide all the calcium and other minerals that you need, in a form that your body can naturally use. To maintain bone strength, put your bones to work by exercising regularly. Weight training is particularly good for strengthening the bones. There is no need for you to worry about the lack of calcium if your diet includes plenty of plant foods.
